Essayez essie ;)

essie essie essie. This nail polish has taken the cake. The colors are to die for, especially when you can combine them to make a nail color of your own! That’s what I did by putting together turquoise & caicos and set in stones. I love how it turned out! Try mixing up some nail colors yourself, its fun and pretty!

Warning: Attracts a lot of compliments

Orange You Fashionable

This Kardashian-inspired outfit says casual chic all over it. The colourful peplum top can pretty much go with any bottom. I wore it with fitted skinny jeans but I would also suggest trying it with a long maxi skirt or low-rise boyfriend jeans for an edgier look. If your outfit is simple, try adding some bling like this jewelled bracelet from Forever21. And lets not forget these adorable double bow shoes from Boutique 1861 in Montreal.

Is peplum here to stay? Leave us your thoughts in the comments section below! 🙂

Let’s Stripe

Happy Friday!

I’m sure everyone is getting ready for the weekend (TGIF)! If you have any special dinners or events planned this weekend consider this outfit. A full skirt is always super fun to wear because of its movement and girly feel. Paired with a fitted striped T and a bright shoe and you’re good to go! It’s simple yet looks put together.

Hope have a good weekend!

Where to go?

So who wants to know where to go for a delish dinner this weekend?

Last week A.K.A went to Ottavio in Laval. This italian pizzeria was the perfect choice for 3 famished girls on a Thursday night. Not only because of the variety of amazing pastas, pizzas and mussels, but also the fact that it’s a bring your own wine restaurant(like every restaurant should be, am i right?). With a nice, calm ambience and kind service, the evening was complete with good food, lively conversation and tasty wine to top it all off. With the added bonus of three locations (Laval, St. Laurent and St. Leonard), Ottavio is definitely a place to go back over and over again.

Bon appétit!

Sweater Dress Please!

If you’re like me and freeze as soon as the temperature drops, then this sweater dress is fit for you! The fabrics warmth is quite comforting in weather like this. I’m wearing it dressed up with tights and some wedges, but you can easily wear this to school with a pair of boots or to work with a blazer and a belt. I call this the multi-functional sweater dress. It’s warm, sexy and comfortable. How would you wear your sweater dress?

Product Review: Urban Decay’s Vice Palette

If you’re makeup obsessed like I am, then you’ve probably already heard about Urban Decay’s Vice Palette. It’s no secret that I love me some eyeshadow, so when I saw this amazing palette at Sephora, I couldn’t help myself! The colours were so vibrant and beautiful, it would be a travesty not to own this limited edition set, wouldn’t it? The Vice Palette is the centre of Urban Decay’s 2012 Holiday Collection. It has a great variety of matte, shimmer, and satin shadows, in both neutral and bright colours.

More bang for your buck:

I would have to say that you are definitely getting your money’s worth with this one! The palette includes 20 shadows of 0.8g and sells for $ 68 CAD. Now you might think that’s pricy but it’s actually a great value when compared to UD’s individual shadows. The easiest comparison is to MAC, a company most are familiar with. Their shadows contain 1.5g but are $18 each! Even if you half the price to $9 to somewhat match the grams, you would be paying $180 for 20 shadows! So UD’s Vice is obviously worth it!

What you get:

These shadows are great quality. Minimal creasing and long lasting! The case is also quite luxurious. The cover has a jewelled UD logo and the case automatically opens with a push of the button (It’s not necessary, but pretty cool.) The case also comes with a double ended eyeshadow brush. One all purpose side and one blending/crease side.

Let’s talk colour:

You get plenty of pigmented colours. My favourites have to be desperation (a beautiful smoky eye colour), provocateur (so sparkly and gorgeous!), noise (vibrant and pink!), and laced (great for everyday). I do have to say that I find it lacking a really good highlighting colour, although anonymous is pretty, it just isn’t light and shimmery enough for what I like.

If you’re a neat freak like me you might get annoyed at the fact that the case get’s so easily dirty. And if you’re thinking that these bright colours look intimidating, I would suggest their Naked Palette’s (this one or this one) for some great neutral colours. And remember, the holidays are just around the corner and this would make a great gift for any makeup lover!

Hope you found this review helpful!

Read My Lips

Whoever said “fashion knows not of comfort” was seriously mistaken. This soft pink cotton sweater is one of the most comfortable articles of clothing I own. It is such a good find and perfect to throw on to grab a coffee, catch a movie, or shop for more sweaters just like it!  I chose to add a belt and some shades to my look, but don’t be shy to pair it up with some tights and/or boots for those colder days. What really catches people’s attention is the adorable red and purple lip pattern; I mean let’s face it, who doesn’t like to be adorned in kisses?

Burgundy’s The New Black

Hey Everyone!

Hope you all had a nice long Thanksgiving weekend! So much turkey! 🙂 Thanksgiving for me is the official beginning to Fall, and if there’s one thing you should be buying this Fall it’s burgundy. It could be anything really, shirt, sweater, scarf, coat. I opted for these great bordeaux-esque pants from H&M and have not stopped wearing them. Paired with a black blazer and some pumps, this look is taking you from the office to a night out!

Ripped Denim

There’s nothing sexier than ripped jeans, a spiked necklace and some red lips! I chose this ensemble for my #ootd because it gives that comfortable urban vibe for fall. Plus, the top is great for those days you’re craving that extra slice of pizza. 😉

Lots of love,

Lana Del Rey for H&M

AKA has been obsessed with Lana Del Rey since her album, Born To Die, came out in January of this year. Her smooth and soothing voice makes you want to listen to her for hours, while her sixties style makes you want to watch her videos on constant repeat. It was to my surprise that while watching TV an ad featuring the singer/songwriter came on for H&M. Del Rey’s style is well featured in the clothing company’s new Fall line and the ad also doubles as the music video for her newest single “Blue Velvet”. As an avid lover of H&M’s fashion and Lana Del Rey’s music, this collaboration just seemed to me to be the perfect match.
